Bennett Greater Noida Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees & Placements

Bennett University is a state private university in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It was created under U.P. Ordinance No. 1 of 2016, gazetted 07 August 2016, and then established by the Bennett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh Act, 2016 (U.P. Act 24 of 2016), gazetted 16 September 2016 (Bennett University's proforma submission to the UGC for state private universities). The UGC's own state-wise list of private universities, as on 25.11.2022, carries it at entry 370 against the date 16.09.2016.

The university is sponsored by Bennett Institute of Higher Education, a not-for-profit company registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. Its territorial jurisdiction is the whole of Uttar Pradesh, and the same UGC filing records no off-campus centre, no off-shore campus and no distance-education programme.

What that legal status means in practice for an applicant:

• It awards its own degrees. It is not affiliated to AKTU or to any other affiliating university, so its syllabus, examinations and results are its own.
• Engineering sits in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; the same filing also records Schools of Management, Law, and Media and Liberal Arts.
• The campus is a single contiguous site of 68.03 acres (275,390 sq m) leased from the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority.

We could not verify a current NAAC grade or NBA programme accreditation from the accrediting bodies' own published lists, so this page states none. Ask the admissions office to show you the certificate itself.

Bennett University admits B.Tech students through its own process. It sits outside JoSAA and CSAB, which allocate seats only in the IITs, NITs, IIITs and centrally funded institutes, and outside Uttar Pradesh state counselling, which allocates seats in affiliated colleges rather than in a university that grants its own degrees. There is no state quota and no domicile advantage here.

In one line: the selection basis recorded in the university's UGC filing for the 2017-18 session was a JEE Main score for every B.Tech branch except Biotechnology.

Two further points from the same filing matter to a parent. The university stated that it does not provide any seat under a management quota. And for SC/ST candidates and candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, the merit list was drawn at a cut-off 10% below the general-category threshold, with two supernumerary J&K seats per programme.

Private universities revise the tests they accept almost every cycle. The accepted-test list, application windows, interview steps, seat-acceptance deposit and the refund schedule for the current session are published only by the university, and the refund schedule is the document most families skip. Read the table above as the shape of the process, not as this year's rule.

In one line: the only Bennett B.Tech fee structure we could read in a primary source is nine years old, so budget from the university's current fee notice and never from this table.

Structural points from that filing that are unlikely to have changed shape: tuition and hostel charges are paid twice a year rather than in one instalment; the filing recorded no fee heads beyond those listed; and the fee is recommended by the university's Finance Committee and approved by its Executive Council, so it is set internally rather than by a state fee-fixation body.

Waivers existed from the start. Every student in the first B.Tech batch of 2016-17 received a Chancellor's Scholarship of ₹50,000 per year for all four years, and merit scholarships and case-by-case tuition waivers for economically disadvantaged students are described in the same document. Whether an equivalent scholarship exists for AY2026-27, and on what score band, is the question worth asking before you pay any acceptance deposit. In one line: Bennett sets an eligibility threshold, not a closing rank, so there is no round-wise category cutoff table for this college the way there is for a CAP or JoSAA seat.

Because admission is direct, no counselling authority publishes closing ranks for Bennett. What exists instead is a minimum JEE Main score or percentile the university fixes for the session, and an internal merit list drawn from applicants who clear it. That threshold moves with the number of applications received and how quickly seats fill, and it differs by branch: the CSE-family branches close first and everything else follows.

The relaxation recorded in the same filing: SC/ST candidates and candidates from Jammu and Kashmir were shortlisted at 10% below the general-category cut-off, applied either to the JEE Main score or to the 10+2 aggregate.

In one line: there is no NIRF median salary to quote for Bennett engineering, because the college does not appear in the NIRF engineering lists we checked.

We checked the NIRF participated-institute lists for Engineering for 2024 and 2025 on nirfindia.org, the 201-300 engineering rank band for 2025, and the 2025 University ranking. Bennett University does not appear in any of them. NIRF submissions are where we normally take a median salary from, because an institution certifies that number to the Ministry of Education rather than to a brochure. For this college that source does not exist.

The other primary document we could read, the university's UGC filing, predates its first graduating batch, so it carries no placement statistics at all.

What to ask for, and what to refuse. Ask for a branch-wise table with three columns: students eligible and registered, students placed, and the median CTC, with the graduating year printed on it. Refuse an average quoted without a denominator and a highest package quoted without the number of offers at that level. A single international offer can lift an average by lakhs and tell you nothing about what your own branch sees.

In one line: hostels are on the same campus and separate for men and women, and the last hostel charge we could verify from a primary source is ₹1 lakh per annum for AY2017-18.

The university's UGC filing records 68.03 acres of contiguous land leased from the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, with 41,530 sq m of built-up area completed at the time of filing, laid out as:

• an academic and administration block with laboratories, workshop and server rooms
• a residential wing carrying the girls' hostel, cafeteria and tuck shop, and a health centre
• a service block with the kitchen, laundry, chiller plant and generator room
• a boys' hostel built as two wings, with common and warden rooms on the ground floor
• a sports complex of 2,883 sq m

Hostel charges in AY2017-18 were ₹1 lakh per annum, described in that filing as covering air-conditioning, food and laundry, and paid in two instalments a year alongside tuition. For AY2026-27 the charge is [FIGURE MISSING — AY2026-27].

For hostel matters the filing sets out a defined escalation path, from the hostel warden and head of administration to the Dean of Students' Affairs and then the Vice Chancellor. That is worth knowing before you need it.

Confirm each of these in writing, because none is in any source we could read: room sharing, whether AC and non-AC tiers are priced differently, mess plan options, whether first-year students must live in, and which one-time charges are billed separately.

An honest page has to say who should walk away.

• If your family is optimising on cost, this is the wrong door. A government or aided engineering seat obtained through state counselling costs a fraction of private-university tuition, and Bennett's own filing shows fees set internally by its Executive Council rather than capped by an external body.
• If your JEE Main score is strong enough for an NIT, an IIIT or a well-established state government college, take the counselling seat. Paying private fees for an outcome you could have had at government fees is a decision you will re-examine during loan repayment.
• If you need a long published placement record before committing, this is not it. The first B.Tech batch entered in 2016-17, and we could not verify branch-wise medians from any primary source.
• If ranking signalling matters to your family or to a future employer screen, note that we could not find Bennett in the NIRF 2024 or 2025 engineering lists.
• If you want a specialised core-engineering pathway, a long-established government institute in that discipline will usually serve you better than a young multidisciplinary campus.
• If you are counting on a management-quota backdoor, the university's UGC filing states it offers none.

None of this makes Bennett a poor campus. It makes it a specific bet: a well-funded, single-site, young private university, paid for at private rates.

Compare by decision axis rather than by league table.

• Cost versus certainty. COEP Pune and VJTI Mumbai are long-established government institutes reached through state counselling at government fee levels. Bennett is a private university where you pay private fees but apply directly, on your own timeline, without waiting for a counselling round to open.
• Predictability of entry. PICT Pune and VJTI Mumbai publish closing ranks through a counselling authority, so you can estimate your chances before you apply. At Bennett the threshold is internal, which means less certainty in advance and more speed once you qualify.
• Domicile. COEP Pune, PICT Pune, VJTI Mumbai and VIT Pune all favour Maharashtra domicile candidates through the home-state quota. Bennett has no state quota at all, which is exactly why it appeals to a candidate with no home-state advantage.
• Track record versus facilities. PICT Pune and COEP Pune carry decades of alumni depth and recruiter familiarity. Bennett's first B.Tech batch entered in 2016-17, and its pitch is a purpose-built 68-acre campus rather than history.
• Location. Greater Noida puts you inside the Delhi NCR employer belt, while VIT Pune and PICT Pune put you inside Pune's IT and engineering cluster. For internships during the degree, that geography matters more than most families expect.

If cost is the binding constraint, work the state-counselling options first. If you have no home-state advantage and want the decision closed early, a direct-admission private university is a reasonable trade.
