QUICK OVERVIEW

ITM Navi Mumbai admission overview

ITM Navi Mumbai admission guidance for 2027: eligibility, entrance route, cutoffs, fees, placements, documents and choice-filling support.

Evidence note: Use the academic year shown beside changing figures and verify the linked official document before payment or choice locking.

1. ITM Navi Mumbai: What It Is and Where It Stands

ITM Business School's Kharghar campus belongs to the ITM Group of Institutions, which the group's official About page states "was established in 1991". For most of that period the campus ran a full-time, AICTE-approved PGDM.

The change that matters to anyone applying now happened in 2023-24. ITM set up ITM Skills University, described on ITM's own site as a UGC-recognised private skills university established under the Government of Maharashtra in 2023, and the flagship programme moved from PGDM iConnect to MBA iConnect, with the degree awarded by ITM Skills University. In one line: you are applying for a two-year MBA degree from a university constituted in 2023, delivered on a campus with a much longer diploma history.

The MBA iConnect is a two-year, full-time programme with ten specialisations listed officially: Marketing Management, International Business, Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Finance, Financial Services, FinTech, Digital Marketing and Media Management, Business Analytics, and Retail Management and E-Commerce.

Sanctioned MBA intake is 60 seats (ITM Skills University Admission Policy, Doc. Ref. ITM-ISU-AP-2023-24, seat-availability table for 2023-24 and 2024-25).

On rankings: "Institute for Technology and Management, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai" appears in the NIRF India Rankings 2024 list of participating management institutes but not in the published ranked list, and it does not appear in the NIRF 2025 Management top 100 (nirfindia.org).

2. Admission Route: How You Actually Get In

Admission is run by the university itself, through what the official Admission Policy calls the ITMSU Centralized Selection Process. That policy does not describe a Maharashtra DTE or CET Cell CAP seat-allotment route for this MBA. A State CET score is accepted as a qualifying test, but the seat comes from ITM's own merit list. If a CAP-allotted seat is what you want, check the CET Cell institute list first.

Eligibility, per the official Admission Policy: a bachelor's degree (10+2+3) with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, and 45% for reserved-category candidates. ITM's public admission pages add that final-year students may apply.

Accepted entrance tests, as listed on ITM Business School's official MBA page: CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, CUET or a State CET. The Admission Policy also allows an entrance test conducted by the university itself in place of a national score.

The stages are: application and fee, document scrutiny, entrance test or accepted score, then Micro Presentation / Group Discussion / Case Study Analysis plus Personal Interview (ITM's public site calls this stage Case Analysis and Personal Interview, or CAPI), verification of Government of Maharashtra norms, and a composite merit list.

In one line: the Admission Policy states that each of the six merit parameters below carries equal weightage, so the entrance percentile is one-sixth of your case, not the whole of it.

Merit parameter (ITMSU Admission Policy, Stage 9)Weightage
Educational qualificationEqual share
Extra-curricular activities, achievements and awardsEqual share
Work experience (if any)Equal share
Entrance test scoreEqual share
Micro Presentation / Group Discussion / Case Study AnalysisEqual share
Personal InterviewEqual share

Reservation follows Government of Maharashtra category percentages, with a further 15% supernumerary quota for foreign nationals, PIO and NRI candidates. The application fee is ₹1,500 and an admission offer must be confirmed within 15 days.

3. Fee Structure (What Is Officially Published)

In one line: ITM's official fee schedule PDF for the 2025-27 batch puts the total MBA programme fee at ₹12,45,000, and ITM's published 2026-28 fee guide puts it at ₹13,45,000.

Component, MBA iConnect (AY2025-27, ITM official fee schedule)Year 1Year 2
Program Fee (Part 1), on provisional offer₹25,000Not applicable
Program Fee (Part 2)₹5,95,000₹6,25,000
Year fee₹6,20,000₹6,25,000
Total program fee, both years₹12,45,000₹12,45,000

Those figures are from the official MBA iConnect Fee Schedule 2025-27 (cdn.itm.edu PDF). Due dates in the same document: Part 1 immediately on the provisional offer letter, Part 2 within 30 days of the confirmed offer letter, and the Year 2 fee on or before 15 March 2026. A late payment fee of ₹5,000 applies after the due date, and demand drafts are payable to "Institute for Technology and Management Trust".

For the 2026-28 batch, ITM's own fee guide publishes tuition of ₹6,70,000 in Year 1 and ₹6,75,000 in Year 2, a total of ₹13,45,000, and ₹16,95,000 for MBA International Business because the Global Immersion Programme fee of ₹3,50,000 is mandatory in that specialisation. We could not locate a signed 2026-28 fee schedule PDF on cdn.itm.edu, so ask for that document in writing before you pay anything.

The Global Immersion Programme is optional in every other specialisation, with indicative all-inclusive costs of ₹88,000 (Dubai), ₹1,10,000 (Singapore) and ₹65,000 (Malaysia) in the 2025-27 schedule. The programme fee includes prescribed educational resources, uniforms, co-curricular activities and medical insurance; a laptop with licensed software is explicitly excluded. The application fee is ₹1,500.

4. Cutoffs and Shortlisting: How to Read Them

ITM Navi Mumbai does not publish a percentile or score cutoff for its MBA. The honest position is [FIGURE MISSING — AY2026-27]: no minimum CAT, XAT, NMAT or CMAT percentile appears on the official MBA page, in the ITM Skills University Admission Policy, or in any ITM document we opened.

That is not an oversight, and it should change how you prepare. Three published facts explain it:

  • The entrance test is one of six equally weighted merit parameters, so no single score clears the bar by itself.
  • The Admission Policy permits the university's own entrance test in place of a national score, so candidates enter the same merit list on different scales.
  • The only hard numeric floor published is academic, not percentile: 50% in the bachelor's degree, and 45% for reserved categories.

Practically, the shortlist is a rolling one. The Admission Policy states that vacant seats at the end of each round are added to the seats available in the next ITM Skills University round, and the sanctioned MBA intake is 60. Applying in a later round means competing for what is left, not for the full intake.

Before you pay the ₹25,000 Part 1 fee, ask the admissions office in writing for the round schedule, the seats still open in your specialisation, and the composite score range admitted in the previous round. If they will not put it in writing, treat that itself as information.

5. Placements: What Is Verifiable

This is where the official record is thinnest, so read it slowly.

ITM Business School's own MBA placement page publishes three headline numbers, average CTC ₹8.65 LPA, highest CTC ₹21 LPA and 400+ company visits, with no graduating batch year attached to any of them (itm.edu placement page, opened 31 July 2026). An ITM blog page attributes ₹8.65 LPA and ₹21 LPA to the 2024 batch and, in the same article, also states an average of around ₹7.5 lakh and a highest of ₹14 lakh with no year. Two different averages and two different highest figures on one official domain is a reason to ask for the underlying batch data, not a reason to split the difference.

Median CTC: [FIGURE MISSING — batch 2025]. No median is published anywhere on the official site, and we found no downloadable audited placement report on the placement page.

The median matters more than the average here. An average is lifted by a handful of high offers in a 60-seat batch; the median tells you what the middle student actually signed. On tuition of ₹12,45,000 to ₹13,45,000, that gap decides whether the loan EMI is comfortable.

Because the institute is not in the NIRF 2024 or 2025 published Management ranks, there is no NIRF data sheet to cross-check a median against. Officially confirmed and non-financial: a five-month industry internship and a two-week NGO internship are part of the programme. Internship stipend: [FIGURE MISSING — batch 2026].

6. Campus, Hostel and Living Costs

The campus address is Plot 25 & 26, Institutional Area, Sector 4, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai 410210 (ITM Business School official contact page). Kharghar sits on the Harbour line and inside the Navi Mumbai corporate belt, which is relevant to internships and industry visits.

In one line: hostel accommodation is optional and separately charged, at ₹1,20,000 to ₹1,45,000 a year on the official 2025-27 schedule and ₹1,35,000 to ₹1,60,000 on the 2026-28 figures ITM publishes.

Hostel room typeAY2025-27 (ITM official fee schedule PDF)AY2026-28 (ITM official fee guide page)
Non-AC room, per year₹1,20,000₹1,35,000
Air-conditioned room, per year₹1,45,000₹1,60,000
Mess and meal plansBilled on actuals, paid to vendor[FIGURE MISSING — AY2026-27]

From the same official fee schedule: rooms are furnished and twin-sharing, male and female students are housed in separate wings, and the hostel provides housekeeping, a cafeteria, electronic security, power backup, gym and internet. It is under a kilometre from campus with a bus service between the two. Accommodation is valid for 11 months from the programme start date and renewable in the second year, and allocation is first-come, first-served because seats are limited.

Budget for food, local travel and a laptop on top of tuition and hostel, and do not simply double the annual hostel figure, because year two is a renewal at the rate published then.

7. Who Should NOT Choose ITM Navi Mumbai

Five kinds of applicant should think hard before committing here.

  • If you need audited placement evidence before signing a cheque of ₹12-13.5 lakh. ITM publishes an average and a highest figure with no batch year, no median, and no downloadable placement report, and two different averages appear on its own domain. Without batch-wise data in writing from the placement office, you are committing on marketing copy.
  • If you are a strong CAT or XAT scorer. The published merit rule gives the entrance test one-sixth weight. A high percentile buys you an interview here; at an institute where the score dominates the call, the same percentile buys far more.
  • If you want a state-regulated fee or a CAP-allotted seat. This MBA is admitted through the university's own centralised selection process, so the DTE allotment route and the fee-scrutiny that comes with it do not apply in the same way.
  • If the qualification type matters to your employer. The degree comes from a university constituted in 2023, and the institute is not in the NIRF 2024 or 2025 published Management ranks. Recruiter familiarity with the older PGDM does not transfer automatically to the new MBA on every HR shortlist.
  • If your funding depends on a scholarship continuing. ITM's own scholarship page states that scholarships awarded apply to the first year only, so model year two at full fee.

None of this makes ITM Navi Mumbai a poor choice. It makes it a choice you should take with batch-wise placement data in your hand rather than in a brochure.

8. How ITM Navi Mumbai Compares

Compare on the axis that will decide your outcome, not on a composite rank.

SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul is the closest comparison on the admission-route axis. A Mumbai University MMS seat routed through the Maharashtra CAP, with state fee regulation attached, is a structurally different product from an institute-run selection process. Confirm current CAP participation on the CET Cell institute list.

Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai is the comparison on the qualification axis: an autonomous, AICTE-approved PGDM against an MBA degree from a university constituted in 2023. Some employers, and some universities assessing you later for further study, treat a degree and a diploma differently. Ask what your target sector prefers.

K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai is the comparison on disclosure. A longer placement record with more granular published data gives you something firmer to underwrite a loan against.

NMIMS Mumbai is the comparison on cost versus control. The fee is higher, but NMAT performance genuinely dominates the call, so a strong test score converts directly. If yours is strong, running that route in parallel costs only an application fee.

Our editorial read: ITM Navi Mumbai deserves a shortlist slot if the Navi Mumbai location, the ten-specialisation choice and a 60-seat cohort suit you, and if the placement office will give you batch-wise data in writing. On published evidence alone it is hard to justify against peers that disclose more.

Check affordability before choice filling

Admission route, eligibility and preference order come first. As one decision checkpoint, enter the loan you may need to see the EMI and total interest before locking a college in your counselling choices.

CALCULATORWhat will this loan actually cost you?
Monthly EMI₹16,344
Total interest₹3,72,894
Total repaid₹13,72,894
Take-home needed (EMI ≤ 40%)₹40,860/mo

Standard reducing-balance arithmetic on the numbers you enter — your actual rate and moratorium terms depend on the lender. The 40% ceiling is this site's own ROI rule: an EMI above 40% of take-home leaves nothing for rent, food or savings.

Frequently asked questions

Which entrance exams does ITM Navi Mumbai accept for the MBA?

ITM Business School's official MBA page lists CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, CUET and State CET scores. The ITM Skills University Admission Policy additionally allows an entrance test conducted by the university itself in place of a national score. No minimum percentile is published for any of these tests, so a valid scorecard makes you eligible rather than shortlisted.

Do I need work experience to apply to the ITM Navi Mumbai MBA?

No. The official Admission Policy sets no work-experience requirement for the regular two-year MBA. It requires two years of post-graduation experience and current employment only for the Executive MBA. Work experience is one of six equally weighted merit parameters, so it strengthens your composite score without being a gate. Freshers and final-year students may apply.

How is the ITM Navi Mumbai shortlist actually decided?

The Admission Policy builds a composite merit list from six parameters carrying equal weightage: educational qualification, extra-curricular achievements and awards, work experience if any, entrance test score, the Micro Presentation, Group Discussion or Case Study Analysis round, and the Personal Interview. Offers follow rank order on that list, and seats left vacant roll into the next selection round.

Is hostel accommodation guaranteed at ITM Navi Mumbai, and what does it cost?

No. The official fee schedule states that hostel allocation is first-come, first-served because seats are limited, and advises paying the full hostel fee early to reserve one. Accommodation is optional, valid for 11 months and renewable in year two. The 2025-27 schedule lists ₹1,20,000 per year for a non-AC room and ₹1,45,000 with air conditioning. Mess is billed separately on actuals.

How do scholarships and education loans work at ITM Navi Mumbai?

ITM's scholarship page describes tuition-fee scholarships awarded through its iSET scholarship test, requiring a minimum 60% in class 10, class 12 and graduation, and states that scholarships awarded apply to the first year only. For financing, ITM's official fee schedule names education-loan partners including SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IDFC First Bank, HDFC Credila and Bank of Baroda.

How should I verify the latest ITM Navi Mumbai admission route?

Start with the entrance and counselling route published by the institute or competent authority. Then match the current prospectus, application notice and counselling schedule on the official authority or institute website. A route from an older cycle should not be assumed to remain unchanged.

How should I read the ITM Navi Mumbai cutoff shown on this page?

Read the exam, year, round, category, quota, branch and closing-rank or percentile label together. A cutoff from another category or an earlier round is not a promise of admission in the current cycle.

How do I confirm the complete fee for ITM Navi Mumbai?

Use the current official fee notice and add tuition, development or university charges, deposits, hostel, mess and other compulsory costs. Ask for the payable amount and refund terms in writing before transferring money.

Extended admission FAQs

Do placement figures guarantee an outcome at ITM Navi Mumbai?

No. A highest, average, median or placement-rate figure describes a particular batch and methodology. Prefer a completed, dated report with batch size and branch-level context; it cannot guarantee an individual salary or job.

Can anyone guarantee direct admission to ITM Navi Mumbai?

No counsellor can override eligibility, merit, counselling or the institute's published process. Use only official portals and receipts, and do not pay an individual who promises a confirmed seat outside the documented route.

Which documents should I prepare for ITM Navi Mumbai admission?

Keep the current exam scorecard, identity and nationality proof, Class 10 and 12 records, leaving or transfer certificate, allotment letter and payment receipt. Domicile, category, income, NCL, EWS, migration, gap or NRI documents apply only where the current authority requires them.

What should I compare before placing ITM Navi Mumbai in my preference list?

Compare the exact branch or programme, admission probability, total cost, location, accreditation, published outcomes and a realistic fallback option. Never list a college you would be unable or unwilling to join if allotted.

What if a current ITM Navi Mumbai figure is still unverified?

Treat it as pending rather than filling the gap with an aggregator estimate. Use the previous completed cycle only as historical context and wait for the competent authority or institute to publish the current figure.

How current is the information on this ITM Navi Mumbai page?

The page shows its publication or update date and keeps changing figures tied to an academic year. No page-specific primary source is registered yet, so current figures require direct verification.

How can Future Career Guidance help with ITM Navi Mumbai admission?

We help interpret eligibility, compare realistic options, organise documents and build a preference or application plan. We do not guarantee allotment, bypass merit or collect unofficial cash premiums for seats.

Which source takes priority if two ITM Navi Mumbai figures conflict?

Use the newest document issued by the competent counselling authority, regulator or institute for the same year, quota and programme. A dated primary document takes priority over an undated webpage, brochure summary or third-party listing.
