SIOM Nashik at a glance
SIOM is the Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), which holds a NAAC A++ grade. It runs from one campus in New CIDCO, Nashik, and every programme it offers is an MBA built around operations and supply chain management. Two founding years are published for SIOM: 2005 and 2006. Dr Vandana Sonwaney is the Director.
The flagship programme is listed for the 2027 intake as the MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management), and also as the MBA (Operations Management), the name its 2026-28 fees carry. Both names describe the same two-year, engineers-only programme. Every student in it completes a Six Sigma Black Belt certification through a live project. Its intake is 120 for 2026-27; the approved intake for 2025-26 was 150.
| Programme | Who can apply | Intake | Academic fee, 2026-28 |
|---|---|---|---|
| MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management) | Engineering graduates only | 120 (2026-27) | ₹19,00,000 |
| MBA (Agri Operations Management) | Graduates of any discipline | 30 (2026-27) | ₹10,50,000 |
| MBA (Operations Management) + MSc Management (Supply Chain and Logistics), Durham | Engineering graduates who also meet Durham’s entry rules | 5 (2026-27) | ₹10,68,750 for the SIOM semesters, plus Durham’s fees |
SIOM selects through SNAP alone. Among the Symbiosis MBAs, SIBM Pune and SCMHRD Pune run general MBAs, and SIIB Pune runs international business and agri business; SIOM is the one whose whole curriculum is operations.
Eligibility: which programme is open to you
The operations MBA and the Durham dual degree require a BE or BTech in any branch; the agri operations MBA does not. That one rule decides which SIOM programme a candidate can apply to.
| Programme | Qualifying degree | Minimum marks |
|---|---|---|
| MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management) | BE or BTech, any stream, from a statutory university | 50% (45% for SC/ST) |
| MBA (Agri Operations Management) | Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or Institution of National Importance | 50% (45% for SC/ST) |
| Dual degree with Durham | BE or BTech, any stream, plus Durham University Business School’s own entry requirements | 50% (45% for SC/ST) at SIU |
- Final-year students may apply; admission then depends on reaching the 50% (45% for SC/ST) mark in the final result.
- A degree from a foreign university needs an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities.
- Within each programme’s intake, 15% of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for persons with disabilities.
- Two seats per programme above the intake go to Kashmiri migrants and Kashmiri Pandit or Hindu families living in the valley; a further 25% above the intake is set aside for NRI, PIO, OCI and foreign-national candidates, admitted through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education.
- No work experience is required for any of the three programmes.
2027 admission calendar
SIOM registration closes on 17 January 2027, five days after the SNAP result, and the batch starts on 1 June 2027. Each step is a deadline: a candidate who misses SIOM registration is not shortlisted, whatever the SNAP score.
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| SNAP 2026 registration and payment close | 25 November 2026 |
| SNAP 2026 tests | 13, 19 and 26 December 2026 |
| SNAP result | 12 January 2027 |
| SIOM registration and payment close | 17 January 2027 |
| Shortlist announced | 21 January 2027 |
| Slot booking for GE-PI, shortlisted candidates only | 26 January 2027 |
| Group Exercise and Personal Interaction | 5–7, 12–14 and 19–21 February 2027 (dual degree: 5–7 February only) |
| First merit list | 9 March 2027 |
| Last date to pay fees, first merit list | 26 March 2027 |
| Programme begins | 1 June 2027 |
Admit cards for the three SNAP tests open on 7, 11 and 18 December 2026, about a week before each test. Dual-degree candidates have a narrower window than the rest: their GE-PI runs only from 5 to 7 February, and after the offer they must complete the transfer to Durham before Durham’s semester starts.
SNAP 2026 and the selection process
Applying takes two payments through the SNAP website: ₹2,550 for each SNAP attempt and ₹1,000 for each SIOM programme, both plus taxes. Paying only for SNAP does not put a candidate on any SIOM shortlist. A candidate may sit up to three SNAP tests, and the higher score counts.
| Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General English | 10 | 10 |
| Analytical and Logical Reasoning | 20 | 20 |
| Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency | 20 | 20 |
| Ethics, Morality and Values | 10 | 10 |
| Total, in 60 minutes | 60 | 60 |
Each wrong answer costs a quarter of a mark. Shortlisting runs on the overall SNAP percentile, with a separate cut-off for each programme, and a candidate must attend every part of the Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI) to stay eligible. No shortlisting percentile is published in advance; category-wise merit-list and wait-list cut-offs appear on the institute’s website after selection. The merit list is out of 100:
| Component | Marks |
|---|---|
| SNAP score, out of 60, scaled to 50 | 50 |
| Group Exercise | 10 |
| Personal Interaction | 40 |
Fee structure, 2026-28

The remaining ₹5,34,375 is due by 25 November 2027 for semester 4. Semesters 2 and 3 follow Durham’s fee structure and are not part of these figures.
- A few seats are discretionary-quota seats, charged double the open-category academic fee for the whole programme.
- NRI, PIO and OCI candidates pay US$16,800 a year in academic fees for the operations MBA; foreign nationals admitted in 2026-27 receive a Golden Jubilee scholarship of US$14,200 against it.
- The four semester toppers in each batch receive 20%, 15%, 10% and 5% off the next semester’s academic fee.
Hostel, mess and campus
A three-sharing hostel room costs ₹1,05,900 a year and mess ₹1,19,600 a year for the 2026-27 academic year, plus a ₹20,000 refundable hostel deposit. The same rates apply to the operations and agri operations MBAs, which are listed as non-residential although their instalments include a room and mess; year-two hostel and mess charges are announced before year two begins, with increases of up to 15% a year allowed. Dual-degree students pay by the semester instead: ₹52,950 for hostel and ₹59,800 for mess in each semester spent at SIOM.

How SIOM Nashik compares
SIOM costs less than the general MBAs at SIBM Pune and SCMHRD and, unlike them, asks for an engineering degree for its flagship programme. Against SIBM Pune at ₹26,20,000 in academic fees for 2026-28 and SCMHRD Pune at ₹25,82,000, SIOM’s operations MBA is ₹19,00,000; SIIB Pune’s international business MBA is ₹20,62,000. All four use the same SNAP score, so one test reaches every one of them, with a separate ₹1,000 registration for each programme.
| Institute and programme | Academic fee, two years | Who can apply |
|---|---|---|
| SIOM Nashik, MBA (Operations) | ₹19,00,000 | Engineers only |
| SIIB Pune, MBA (International Business) | ₹20,62,000 | Any graduate |
| SCMHRD Pune, MBA | ₹25,82,000 | Any graduate |
| SIBM Pune, MBA | ₹26,20,000 | Any graduate |
The trade is location and breadth. SIOM sits in Nashik, not Pune, and every programme it runs is an operations MBA, so it suits a candidate who has already chosen that function. Outside Symbiosis, IMT Nagpur admits through CAT, XAT, CMAT or GMAT and charges ₹16,00,000 for 2027-29 with hostel and mess included, and NMIMS Mumbai admits through NMAT. For the agri operations MBA the closest Symbiosis alternative is SIIB Pune’s MBA (Agri Business).
