Mistakes to avoid
The costly mistakes at IMT Hyderabad come from programme availability, GMAT dates and reading the 2026 placement figures as a batch average.
| Mistake | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| Applying on CMAT | CMAT is not accepted at Hyderabad; only IMT Nagpur takes it |
| Planning on PGDM (Marketing) or Logistics for 2027 | Only the PGDM and PGDM (Finance) are in the 2027 common application; confirm before you rank the others |
| Sending GMAT scores on the campus date for a common application | The common application needs GMAT scores at IMT’s central office by 15 January 2027; 31 March 2027 applies only to campus-specific applications |
| Reading ₹15.1 lakh as the batch average | It is the average of the top 100 offers in 2026; the latest whole-batch average is ₹12.2 lakh for 2023-25 |
| Assuming the specialisation name is the programme name | The 2026 finance and marketing figures are for specialisations, which PGDM students also choose |
| Relying on MBA equivalence without dates | Ask for the AIU and NBA validity dates; neither is published |
| Stacking scholarships | Only one scholarship applies, and it is reviewed each term |
- Keep the final-year mark sheets and pass certificate ready; a provisional admission is cancelled without them
- Attendance below 80% in a course bars you from its end-term examination
