Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT), Mumbai Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees & Placements

SPIT publishes separate first-year B.Tech fee notices for CAP, Institute Level Seats and Against CAP for Academic Year 2026-27. Figures below are from those PDFs — not aggregators. The CAP notice states tuition and development fees are likely to be revised; any FRA-approved difference is payable when notified. The admissions page also prints “Fees approved by Fee Regulating Authority B.Tech: Rs. 2,12,000/-” — that line matches tuition + development only (₹1,84,347 + ₹27,653), not the full Open total with deposit and insurance.

Scholarship / freeship categories must submit MahaDBT applications within the window printed on the CAP fee notice; concession is subject to that submission. Payment instruction on the CAP notice: Demand Draft in favour of “Principal, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology” payable at Mumbai — no cash. Confirm the live payment mode on your demand note. Do not budget ILS using the CAP Open total — ILS is roughly double on the 2026-27 notice.

Outstation families ask what Andheri West housing costs beyond tuition. On the August 2026 captures used for this page, we did not find a dated AY2026-27 boys/girls hostel + mess tariff table we could sum-check. The site publishes RFPs for an SPCE–SPIT hostel construction project — that is not a student fee circular and is not used as a hostel price.

A CAP seat at 03215 does not automatically mean a hostel bed. Until the institute confirms allotment and a written package for your year, keep a separate housing buffer and treat it as unknown — the same rule applied on DJ Sanghvi and VIT Mumbai.

Read this as an estimate. The CAP fee notice prints first-year totals and also states tuition/development may be revised. The ILS notice separately says those fees are to be paid every year till completion — that sentence is on the ILS document, not a silent licence to multiply CAP without a label.

For EMI planning, prefer the latest printed median on the Average & Median CTCs chart (12.50 LPA on the rightmost pair) over marketing averages, and still confirm living costs in writing if you are outstation.

Historical closes are not next-year guarantees. Compare on the same list with DJ Sanghvi, VIT Mumbai and PICT Pune rather than mixing percentiles across institutes.

Category-wise job-profile and higher-studies graphics also appear in the same gallery; they support activity context, not a substitute for a dated branch-wise fixed-pay table from T&P. For EMI maths, prefer median 12.50 LPA (latest printed pair) over the highest historical average on the same chart.

Seat counts below are from the State CET Cell institute summary for code 03215. SPIT’s CAP programme set on that summary is three B.Tech codes — not a long list of specialised titles.

Computer Engineering alone is half the regular intake (240/480). That concentration is why CE and CSE closes dominate preference-list conversations for 03215, while EXTC remains the float branch on the same campus when Open CE/CSE is out of reach.

First-year B.Tech seats for Maharashtra and All-India CAP move through the State CET Cell process. Institute Level and Against CAP follow SPIT’s own notices and fee PDFs. The sequence below is the counselling path that decides a CAP seat.

1. Entrance and registration. Appear for MHT-CET and/or JEE Main as required, then complete CET Cell registration and document upload.
2. Option form. Add SPIT programmes using full choice codes from institute 03215.
3. CAP rounds. Read freeze / float / slide rules in the CET Cell Information Brochure before accepting.
4. Fee payment. Pay the total for your printed category from the AY2026-27 CAP fee notice (Open ₹2,14,125 unless a concession row applies and MahaDBT rules are met). Do not use the ILS ₹4,26,125 total for a CAP seat.
5. Institute reporting. Carry the allotment letter and the CET Cell / SPIT document list (SPIT publishes a CAP reporting document list PDF under the 2026-27 FE CAP category).
6. Hostel (optional, separate). Confirm tariffs and allotment in writing — this page does not invent a hostel total.

Documents checklist

Most avoidable seat losses happen after the merit is already good enough. Freeze / float / forfeiture rules come from the Maharashtra State CET Cell for the cycle. They apply to 03215 the same way they apply to DJ Sanghvi, VIT Mumbai or PICT.

Build the preference list assuming you may be allotted any 03215 code you ranked — including EXTC — then freeze only when that branch and the matching fee row are acceptable. Do not treat a historical CE GOPENS close near merit ~700 as a personal guarantee for next year.

Mumbai computing shortlists often put SPIT next to DJ Sanghvi and other CAP institutes. Keep the comparison on the same year’s Round I list and the same fee-notice year.

Also weigh COEP and PCCOE if Pune economics or campus shape matter more than Andheri West. VJTI remains a common neighbour in conversation; until that route is rebuilt to the same official-source standard, prefer comparing SPIT numbers to indexable peers above rather than to unsourced stub copy.
