SIIB Pune MBA Admission 2027: Fees, Cutoff & Placements

Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. Its own About page states the institute was founded in 1992. Because SIU is a deemed-to-be university, SIIB is not affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and does not admit through any state counselling process.

Three two-year MBA programmes run from the Hinjawadi campus:

• MBA – International Business, running since 1992
• MBA – Agri Business, running since 2004
• MBA – Sustainability Management, started in 2009 as MBA Energy & Environment

On accreditation, SIIB's site states that SIU is accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade, and that the MBA – International Business programme is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.

On rankings, be precise about what is and is not SIIB. Symbiosis International is ranked 24 in the University category with a score of 59.16. SIIB itself does not appear among the 100 institutions listed in the NIRF 2025 Management ranking; the Symbiosis entry on that list is Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune at rank 11, score 67.90. A university-level rank is not a b-school rank, and the two get conflated constantly in admission-season marketing.

SIIB was formerly the Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT), and its own pages date the institute to 1992, set up after the 1991 liberalisation to teach international business. It now describes itself as running on 32+ years of legacy.

• MBA (International Business) — two-year residential, recently accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. Specialisations: Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Business Analytics.
• MBA (Agri Business) — created in 2004 and now in its twentieth year, covering changing trends in agribusiness, digitalisation in agriculture and agri-market strengthening.
• MBA (Sustainability Management) — created in 2009 and now in its fourteenth year, covering corporate sustainability and business strategy, ESG, sustainable energy, conventional and renewable energy business and financing, energy and power economics, energy analytics and carbon markets.

SIIB admits through one entrance test only. Its admission pages names the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) as mandatory: you register at snaptest.org, obtain a SNAP ID, select the SIIB programme inside the SNAP form, and then pay a separate institute registration fee to SIIB. Registering for SNAP alone does not register you for SIIB — that second payment is the step applicants miss.

There is no MAH MBA-CET or DTE Maharashtra CAP route into SIIB. State CAP counselling covers affiliated and autonomous colleges under the Maharashtra CET Cell; a deemed university runs its own process, and SIIB's admission pages list no test other than SNAP.

SNAP structure, from the official SNAP test-structure page: 60 questions in 60 minutes, one mark each — General English 15 questions, Analytical & Logical Reasoning 25, Quantitative, DI and DS 20. Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marking. A candidate may sit up to three SNAP tests and the higher score is used for the final percentile.

Stage two is GEPI — Group Exercise and Personal Interaction. SIIB states that shortlisting for GEPI is based on the SNAP score or percentile, after which a merit list follows. SIIB does not publish the weightage split between SNAP score, group exercise and interview at all. Ask [email protected] or the current prospectus rather than assuming a split.

Published calendar for the 2026-28 batch, marked tentative on the page: SNAP registration 01-Aug-2025 to 20-Nov-2025; SIIB registration and payment close 13-Dec-2025; SNAP CBT on 06, 14 and 20-Dec-2025; SNAP result 09-Jan-2026; GEPI shortlist 20-Jan-2026; GEPI Phase I 6–8 Feb 2026, Phase II 13–15 Feb 2026; first merit list 12-Mar-2026; commencement 01-Jun-2026.

SIIB publishes a per-programme fee sheet with four equal academic instalments spread across the two years, so the cost differs sharply by programme — International Business is roughly 1.6 times the other two.

For the 2026-28 batch the academic fee is ₹5,15,500 per instalment for International Business, ₹3,24,500 for Agri Business and ₹3,23,000 for Sustainability Management, four instalments each.

The right-hand column is SIIB's own instalment schedule added up, not an estimate — and it excludes hostel, mess and deposits. Instalment due dates for this batch are: at admission, 25-Nov-2026, 25-Jun-2027 and 25-Nov-2027.

Hostel, mess and two refundable deposits sit on top of the academic fee, and only the Year-1 figures are published.

Year-2 hostel and mess figures are not published; the fee pages say they will be communicated before the next academic year begins, and note that hostel and mess fees can be increased by up to 15% each year. So there is no Year-2 living figure to publish — do not budget by doubling Year 1.

The published grid, which applies to General, SC, ST, PwD and Kashmiri Migrant category candidates:

• Due dates are the same for all three: at the time of admission, then 25-Nov-2026, 25-June-2027 and 25-Nov-2027.
• The last row includes the ₹20,000 refundable deposit; the academic-only figures are ₹20,62,000, ₹12,98,000 and ₹12,92,000.
• Shared hostel accommodation is available on campus and is mandatory for the entire duration of every programme, so hostel is not a cost you can opt out of.

SIIB does not publish a SNAP percentile cutoff. Its admission pages state only that shortlisting for GEPI is based on the SNAP score or percentile, with the shortlist announced on siib.ac.in on the scheduled date. There is no cutoff table anywhere, so there is no percentile to quote, and any figure you find elsewhere is a candidate-reported reconstruction.

That absence changes how you should plan. Four things actually drive whether you get a call:

• Programme, not institute. The three programmes have very different intakes — 150 seats for International Business, 60 for Agri Business and 30 for Sustainability Management. A 30-seat programme behaves nothing like a 150-seat one.
• The three-attempt rule. SNAP allows up to three attempts with the higher score counting for the final percentile. That compresses percentiles at the top of the distribution, which is why a percentile that sufficed one year may not the next.
• Category. Published reservation is SC 15%, ST 7.5%, PwD 3%, children or wards of defence personnel 5% (International Business only), category reservation is SC 15%, ST 7.5%, PwD 3% and children or wards of defence personnel 5% (International Business only); over and above the total intake, SIIB lists 15% of total intake for international students and 2 seats for children of migrants from the Jammu and Kashmir valley.
• Eligibility floor. A bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution of national importance with at least 50% marks, 45% for SC and ST. Final-year students may apply provisionally.

A shortlist is not an admission. Clearing the GEPI cut only gets you into the interaction round; the merit list is a separate outcome.

SIIB publishes a programme-wise placement report with median, average and percentile bands — which is more than most institutes disclose, and it lets you check the headline against the middle of the batch.

For the 2023-25 batch the median CTC was ₹15.00 LPA for International Business, ₹11.00 LPA for Agri Business and ₹12 LPA for Sustainability Management.

Read the median, not the highest. For International Business the average sits ₹1 LPA above the median — a modest gap, meaning the distribution is not wildly skewed by a handful of outliers. For Sustainability Management the average is ₹2 LPA above the median, so the ₹19.20 LPA headline describes a small top slice, not a typical outcome.

Internship stipends show the same lesson more starkly. For International Business, batch 2023-25, the average stipend was ₹40,413 but the median was ₹22,000 — the average is nearly double the middle student's experience.

What SIIB does not publish on these pages: batch size, number of offers and number of recruiters. None of the three appears on them. Its placements page states the institute has had 100% placements since inception; without a published batch size or offer count, that claim cannot be independently checked from the official documents.

SIIB operates from a campus at G. No. 174/1, Hinjawadi, Taluka Mulshi, Dist. Pune 411 057. Its infrastructure page places the campus inside Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, describes it as fully residential and aerodynamically designed, and states that solar energy meets 70% of its energy requirement.

Named hostel blocks on the official infrastructure page are the Girls Hostel, Gerbera Hostel and Boys Hostel. The same page lists a health care centre managed by Symbiosis Centre for Health Care, a swimming pool with monitored water quality and a free trainer, and a sports arena. The official infrastructure page describes a five-acre campus split into an academic block and a block shared with the Symbiosis Infotech Campus. Hostel bed capacity is not stated anywhere on the official pages, so we do not state it.

The published hostel and mess figures are in section 3: three-sharing at ₹1,12,500 and mess at ₹59,800 per instalment for Year 1 of the 2026-28 batch, with a refundable ₹20,000 hostel deposit at admission. Year 2 is unpublished by SIIB's own statement, and the pages warn that hostel and mess can rise up to 15% a year — so a two-year living budget built by doubling Year 1 will understate the real number.

Practical points that no fee sheet covers: Hinjawadi is a working IT corridor, which helps for corporate access but means peak-hour travel into central Pune is slow. Budget separately for a laptop, GEPI travel, course materials and any international-immersion or certification costs your programme adds. Ask the institute for the current year's exact obligations in writing before you commit a deposit.

Versus SIBM Pune — the general-management axis. Same university, same entrance test, so one SNAP attempt puts both in play. The difference is positioning and external validation: SIBM Pune is the Symbiosis entry in the NIRF 2025 Management ranking at rank 11 with a score of 67.90, and SIIB is not on that list of 100. If your decision axis is a broad general-management brand, that gap is real and you should apply to both rather than choosing between them at form-filling stage.

Versus SCMHRD Pune — the functional-specialisation axis. Also a Symbiosis institute admitting through SNAP, but oriented towards HR, operations and business analytics. If you know your function and it is HR or analytics, SCMHRD is the more direct route; if you want a trade or sector orientation, SIIB is.

Versus IIFT Delhi — the direct international-business axis. IIFT is the obvious alternative for anyone specifically targeting international trade. It admits through its own entrance test rather than SNAP, which means a separate exam calendar and a separate preparation load — a scheduling decision as much as an academic one.

Versus IRMA Anand — the agri and rural axis. For applicants weighing MBA Agri Business, IRMA is the specialist comparison on curriculum and recruiter set. Compare the two on the sector roles each actually places into, using each institute's own placement report, not aggregator summaries.
