K J Somaiya School of Engineering (KJSSE / KJSCE), Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees & Placements

KJSSE publishes first-year B.Tech fees for Academic Year 2026-27 in the Admissions 2026 brochure. Figures below are from that fee page — not aggregators and not Maharashtra FRA CAP circulars (this is a private-university fee sheet). The brochure also prints NRI / SAARC / OCI columns and a separate merit-scholarship “fees to be paid” matrix.

Merit scholarship seats (up to 20% of intake, first-come within the sanctioned scholarship budget) can lower the amount payable after an offer — for example the scholarship matrix prints COMP / AI&DS payable figures of ₹3,17,400 and ₹3,75,000 in the top JEE/MHT-CET/SAT bands. Those are fee-reduction outcomes, not a CAP closing merit number. Application fee on the process page: ₹2,000, non-refundable and non-transferable. NRI & International columns also appear on the fee page; read the printed column for your candidature type rather than assuming the Indian total.

Unlike several Mumbai CAP colleges where hostel tariffs are unpublished, KJSSE prints residential figures on the same brochure fee page as programme fees. University housing information also sits under Somaiya Hostel-Housing.

A B.Tech offer does not automatically guarantee a preferred room type. Budget the printed hostel line only after allotment confirmation. Compare housing certainty here with SPIT and DJ Sanghvi, where AY2026-27 hostel rupee tariffs were not verified on capture.

Read this as an estimate. The fee page prints first-year totals and an explicit annual-increase note (up to 8%). We will not silently multiply and present the product as the university’s fixed quotation.

For EMI planning, prefer the brochure median ₹10 lakh/yr (year not printed on the highlights page) only after you understand it is a marketing highlight, not your personal offer letter. Loan sizing must also include whether you receive a merit scholarship seat.

Families often search “KJSCE cutoff” expecting a CAP GOPENS table like SPIT or DJ Sanghvi. On the CAP Round I 2026 Maharashtra cut-off PDF we opened, there is no institute block for Somaiya School/College of Engineering. That is consistent with private-university constituent admission rather than DTE CAP allotment.

Merit scholarship bands (fee payable examples)

The brochure’s AY 2026 merit-scholarship matrix prints full fee and reduced payable amounts by score band. Examples as printed for first year:

Scholarship seats are limited (up to 20% of intake), first-come within budget, and continuation needs 7 CGPA, 75% attendance and disciplined behaviour as printed. Do not treat a scholarship percentile as a guarantee of admission to COMP.

Placement marketing for KJSSE appears on the Admissions 2026 brochure and on Placement Highlights. For publishable figures we use the brochure print, and we state the honesty gap: the highlights page does not print the graduating batch year next to the salary boxes.

Website animated counters on the highlight page can show different numbers than the brochure boxes — we do not mix them into one “official median”. For EMI maths, prefer the printed median ₹10 lakh/yr over the ₹58 lakh/yr highest, and still treat the missing batch year as a verification gap.

KJSSE’s programme list is wider than a three-branch CAP school like SPIT. Fee banding and scholarship rules are organised around the programme names below. Website cards that print “Intake: 20” for many programmes look inconsistent with a large private-university school and are not used as verified seat counts here.

Dual-degree B.Tech + MBA options appear on the school site; their fee rules may differ from the first-year B.Tech table above — read the specific programme page before budgeting.

This is not the State CET Cell CAP preference-list workflow. The brochure’s admission-process page is the checklist for KJSSE first-year B.Tech.

1. Check eligibility. Std XII with English, Physics, Mathematics compulsory plus one of chemistry / biotechnology / biology / technical vocational, minimum 45% as printed.
2. Entrance score. Hold a valid JEE Main 2026 OR MHT-CET 2026 OR SAT 2025/26 OR CUET 2026 OR PERA CET 2026 score.
3. Apply online. https://admission.somaiya.edu/ — application fee ₹2,000 (non-refundable).
4. Admission rounds. Follow the brochure round calendar below; candidates who miss first preference may be considered in later rounds for betterment as printed.
5. Offer and payment. Provisional admission letter; confirm by paying the seat-acceptance amount before the deadline on the schedule.
6. Document verification. Complete verification as instructed; hostel is a separate allotment.

Documents checklist (verify against the current Somaiya list)

Quote the institute’s own warning: the 17 February 2026 notice tells candidates and parents the school has no agents, liaison/admission offices or representatives other than the Mumbai campus office. That is stronger than our paraphrase — read the PDF.

Because this is not Maharashtra CAP, freeze/float/slide vocabulary from the CET Cell brochure does not move a KJSSE offer. The risks are still real — they sit on Somaiya’s round calendar and payment rules.

If your plan still depends on CAP allotment mechanics, shortlist SPIT, DJ Sanghvi or PICT instead — those are CAP institutes on the lists we publish.

Compare on decision axes — admission route and annual fee — before comparing placement marketing.

Also weigh VIT Mumbai and PICT if you want a CAP computing shortlist at a different fee band. The honest reason to open KJSSE is the university campus / programme mix — not an assumption that fees resemble CAP private colleges.
