What GIMS Greater Noida is
GIMS, the GNIOT Institute of Management Studies, is part of the GNIOT group, which dates from 2000, and awards a postgraduate diploma, not a degree. It is not the Government Institute of Medical Sciences in Greater Noida, which shares the initials.

Admission route and eligibility
GIMS admits on CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT or ATMA, or on its own 45-minute GIMS Aptitude Test (GAT) for applicants without one of those scores. Shortlisted candidates take a group discussion with a 500–700-word essay on the GD topic, then a personal interview, online or on campus. No 2027-29 admission schedule had been published as of 3 October 2026.
| Parameter | Marks | How awarded |
|---|---|---|
| Personal interview | 40 | Vision 10, communication 10, attitude to learning 10, academic knowledge 5, general knowledge 5 |
| Entrance test | 20 | 5 if qualified, 8 at 40–50 percentile, 12 at 50–60, 15 at 60–70, 20 above 70 |
| Group discussion | 20 | Confidence, content, teamwork, reasoning, 5 each |
| Class 10, 12 and graduation | 5 each | 1 for the lowest band, rising to 5 above 90% |
| Work experience | 5 | 1 for 1–2 years up to 5 for over 4 years |
The interview and GD carry 60 of the 100 marks and the entrance score 20, so most of the merit score is decided at the GD and interview.
Eligibility. A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks, or 45% for SC/ST candidates, from a recognised Indian university, or as the latest AICTE rules allow. Final-year students may apply if they submit their final mark sheet by 30 October of the year of admission. The application fee is ₹1,200.
Fees, 2026-28 batch

Placements
The latest package figures for a named batch are for 2020-22, when the average package was ₹6.46 lakh and the highest ₹12.56 lakh in India and ₹17.55 lakh abroad. Later highlights give package figures without naming the batch.
| Measure | Figure |
|---|---|
| Average package | 6.46 |
| Highest, India | 12.56 |
| Highest, international | 17.55 |
| Published for | Average | Highest, India | Highest, international | Summer stipend, average / highest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023-25 | 7.25 LPA | 15.5 LPA | 23.31 LPA | ₹20,000 / ₹1.5 lakh |
| 2025-27 | 7.75 LPA | 15.75 LPA | 23.31 LPA | ₹22,000 / ₹51,000 |
The two sets agree on the international highest but give different averages and very different internship highs, and neither names the graduating batch. For 2022-24 GIMS publishes a list of placed students rather than salaries: it names 167 students, 59 placed on campus and 108 off campus, from a batch that admitted 187. Most of that year’s placements were off campus.
Recruiters named in that list include HDB Financial Services, HCL Technologies, IndiaMART and ESAF. Ask GIMS for the 2024-26 average and median, the number of students placed and how many of those offers came through campus, in writing, before accepting a seat.
How GIMS compares
GIMS charges between a third and a half of what the established Delhi NCR PGDMs charge, its latest batch-labelled placement average is about half of theirs or less, and unlike each of them it has no NBA-accredited programme.
| Institute | Fee | Average package | Admission |
|---|---|---|---|
| GIMS Greater Noida | ₹8,55,000 (2026-28), hostel extra | ₹6.46 L (2020-22) | CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA or GAT; GD, essay, PI |
| LBSIM Delhi | ₹17,25,000 (2027-29), hostel extra | ₹12.4 L, PGDM General (2024-26, interim) | CAT, XAT or GMAT; extempore and PI |
| IMT Ghaziabad | ₹23,00,000, hostel not stated (2026-28) | ₹17.64 L (2024-26) | CAT, XAT or GMAT |
| IMI Delhi | ₹23,54,000 (2026-28), hostel extra | ₹17.62 L, PGDM (2023-25) | CAT, XAT or GMAT; video assessment and PI |
| FORE School Delhi | ₹23,24,000 (2026-28), hostel extra | ₹16.4 L (2023-25) | CAT, XAT or GMAT |
The batches differ, so read the averages as a band. GIMS is the only one of these whose main PGDM accepts MAT, CMAT, ATMA or its own test, which makes it reachable without a CAT or XAT percentile; the others’ main PGDMs admit through CAT, XAT or GMAT. If you are choosing on cost, compare the fee with the most recent placement figures GIMS will give you in writing. For the wider field, see our MBA admission guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the GIMS Greater Noida PGDM fee?
₹8,55,000 for the 2026-28 batch: ₹75,000 at registration and four instalments, the last due by 15 September 2027. Hostel is optional at ₹1,48,500 to ₹1,98,000 a year with food, and bus transport costs ₹23,000 to ₹40,000 a year. No 2027-29 fee has been published.
Which exams does GIMS accept?
CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT or ATMA. A candidate without one of these takes the GIMS Aptitude Test (GAT), a 45-minute test on the CAT pattern. The entrance score carries 20 of 100 marks in the merit matrix; the group discussion carries 20 and the interview 40.
What is the GIMS cut-off?
GIMS publishes no cut-off. Its merit matrix gives entrance-test marks from 5 for a qualifying score up to 20 for above the 70th percentile, and the GD and interview carry 60 marks, so most of the merit score is decided at the GD and interview.
What are GIMS placements like?
The latest figures for a named batch, 2020-22, show a ₹6.46 lakh average and ₹12.56 lakh highest in India. Later highlights give a ₹7.25 lakh or ₹7.75 lakh average without naming the batch. For 2022-24 GIMS lists 167 placed students, 108 of them placed off campus.
Is the GIMS PGDM equivalent to an MBA?
GIMS awards an AICTE-approved PGDM, not a degree, and lists no AIU MBA equivalence or NBA accreditation. If MBA equivalence matters for a government job or further study, ask GIMS in writing before taking admission.
Does GIMS have a hostel?
Yes, separate boys’ and girls’ hostels on campus, optional and allotted first come, first served. For 2026-28 a three-seater cooler room costs ₹1,48,500 a year with food and a two-seater AC room ₹1,98,000, including a ₹10,000 registration and a refundable security deposit.
What scholarships does GIMS offer?
Up to ₹60,000 off tuition for 80 percentile and above in CAT or XAT, ₹50,000 for 90 percentile in CMAT, and smaller amounts for MAT, GAT and academic records; women with 55% throughout get ₹35,000 under the Shakti scholarship. Only one scholarship can be claimed, and keeping it needs a 7.0 CGPA and 75% attendance.
