What Welingkar Bengaluru is
Welingkar Bengaluru is the second campus of Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, known as WeSchool, which is run by Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali, a Pune education trust. It opened in 2008 at Electronic City Phase 1 on Hosur Road. AICTE approves it as a standalone institute, so it awards postgraduate diplomas rather than degrees and has no affiliating university. The Matunga campus on our Welingkar Mumbai page runs eight PGDMs and a University of Mumbai MMS; Bengaluru runs four PGDMs and no MMS.
| Programme | Seats, 2026-27 | Running since |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM | 60 | 2009 |
| PGDM E-Business | 120 | 2008 |
| PGDM Business Design & Innovation | 30 | 2010 |
| PGDM Research & Business Analytics | 60 | 2020 |
E-Business is the largest programme on this campus, twice the size of the core PGDM. Business Design & Innovation was cut from 60 seats to 30 in 2019, and Research & Business Analytics grew from 30 to 60 in 2022.
| Body | Status |
|---|---|
| AICTE | 270 seats approved for 2026-27 |
| NBA | PGDM and E-Business: July 2025 to December 2028 · Research & Business Analytics: January 2026 to December 2028 · Business Design & Innovation: July 2024 to June 2027 |
| SAQS (AMDISA) | 28 November 2024 to 28 November 2029 |
| AIU MBA equivalence | PGDM and E-Business: 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2029 · Business Design & Innovation: 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2029 · Research & Business Analytics: 28 November 2024 to 28 November 2029 |
| NIRF Management | Not ranked in 2024 or 2025 |
NBA accreditation counts only for students who graduate while it is valid. Every current period ends before a batch joining in 2027 would graduate in 2029, Business Design & Innovation’s in June 2027, and no renewed dates are published yet. AIU’s equivalence also lapses if AICTE approval or SAQS accreditation does (and, for Business Design & Innovation, NBA accreditation), so a student who needs MBA equivalence for a government job or study abroad should ask admissions about the renewals before accepting an offer.
Admission route, cut-offs and selection
Admission is direct: you apply to WeSchool, not through a state counselling round, and every seat is filled on merit through the institute’s own interview process. There is no management quota. The 2027-29 batch has not opened yet. For the 2026-28 batch, eligibility was a bachelor’s degree with at least 50%, completed by June 2026, and a score in CAT 2025, XAT 2026, ATMA (February 2026), CMAT 2026 or GMAT from 2023 onwards. No work experience is required, and no seats are set aside for any one test.
| Programme | CAT, XAT or GMAT | ATMA or CMAT |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM, E-Business, Research & Business Analytics | 75 percentile | 80 score |
| Business Design & Innovation | 70 percentile on any accepted test, any graduation background | — |
That bar is five points below Mumbai’s 80 for the same three programmes. Clearing it earns an interview call, not a seat. The 2025-26 admission cut-offs:
| Programme | Seats | Cut-off |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM | 60 | 75.02 |
| PGDM E-Business | 120 | 76.92 |
| PGDM Business Design & Innovation | 30 | 70.16 |
| PGDM Research & Business Analytics | 60 | 75.39 |
Two weightings are published for the final merit list, one for the 2025-27 batch and one with no batch year:
| Criterion | 2025-27 batch | No batch year given |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance test percentile | 35 | 35 |
| Academics (Class 10, 12, graduation) | 25 | 15 |
| Pre-interview questionnaire, group discussion and interview | 35 | 45 |
| Extracurricular activities | 5 | 5 |
Both give the test 35 marks; they differ on how much academics and the interview count. Selection is on merit only, with no preference by the state you graduated in and no reservation for linguistic minorities.

Tuition Fee Waiver. Up to 5% of each course’s sanctioned intake is offered under the TFW scheme to candidates whose parents earn ₹8 lakh a year or less from all sources, backed by a Tehsildar income certificate. The waiver covers tuition only, ₹12,18,000 per student in 2025-26, when 14 Bengaluru students held TFW seats. A TFW student pays every other fee and cannot change course or campus. WeSchool Bengaluru offers no scholarships of its own; for loans, it has a tie-up with a financial institution.
Hostel and campus
The hostel is compulsory for Bengaluru students and is off campus: separate hostels for men and women within 2 km of the college, with 24x7 internet. Places go first come, first served, with preference to students from outside Bengaluru. Room type and whether mess is included are not stated, so ask both questions before paying the ₹1,70,000.
