MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT ADT) is a private university established in 2015 by an Act of the Maharashtra State Legislature, with its campus at Vishwa Rajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, on the Pune–Solapur highway (Pune 412201). It is a separate legal entity from MIT-WPU Kothrud and from MIT Academy of Engineering Alandi — do not mix up their forms, fees or cutoff talk.

Engineering sits inside the Faculty of Engineering, mainly through the MIT School of Engineering and Sciences (Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Computer, Robotics and AI) and the MIT School of Computing (Computer Science and Engineering with multiple specialisations). The university also runs design, management, food technology, bioengineering and maritime schools on the same campus.

Where it stands on verifiable markers:

So the honest positioning: a large, young, multi-disciplinary private campus with mid-table national standing in engineering — not a COEP-tier state institute, and priced very differently, as the fee section shows.

MIT ADT is a private university, so B.Tech seats are not filled through Maharashtra's CAP counselling. The university runs its own admission process, and that changes how you plan.

Eligibility, as published on the MIT School of Engineering and Sciences programmes page (AY2026-27): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, minimum 50% in PCM for the open category and 45% for reserved categories, with English as a subject. Because allotment is application-driven rather than round-based CAP, popular branches like CSE effectively fill by merit plus application timing — applying late in the cycle is the most common self-inflicted wound here.

The same page lists concessional slabs for EWS-category admits (for example, CSE Year 1 at ₹1,65,500, AY2026-27) and NRI/PIO/OCI rates at roughly one and a half times the resident fee (CSE Year 1 ₹4,30,500, AY2026-27).

Two cautions. First, fees step up each year by design — budget on the published four-year schedule, not on Year 1 multiplied by four. Second, the schedule excludes hostel, mess and transport; see the hostel section. The university has not published a consolidated all-inclusive cost sheet, so any "total package" number you see elsewhere is someone's arithmetic, not an official figure.

MIT ADT has introduced a Scholarship Ordinance effective AY2026-27, with four named merit categories: Merit Excellence (ME), Merit Achiever (MA), Merit Performer (MP), and Merit-Based Support (MBS), alongside a separate need-based tuition assistance track for financial hardship.

One figure the university does publish clearly: an Achievement-Based Credit of 10% of the tuition fee for students with verified competition or sports achievements.

What is not published: the exact JEE Main/PERA CET/MHT-CET percentile threshold for each of the four merit tiers, and the exact scholarship amount or percentage each tier carries. The university's own scholarship page states the amount "depends upon the percentile scored," and that continuing the scholarship into later years requires maintaining a minimum 8.0 CGPA — but does not publish the tier cut-offs themselves. Here is the uncomfortable truth this page will not dress up: MIT ADT publishes no branch-wise cutoff PDF. Because admission bypasses CAP, there is no official round-wise closing-percentile table of the kind COEP or PICT generate through the State CET Cell every year. No minimum qualifying percentile beyond the base eligibility (50% PCM, open category; 45%, reserved category) is published for any branch.

What is verifiable is the mechanism, from the university's own pages: you need to have qualified at least one accepted exam (JEE Main, MHT-CET, PERA CET, Uni-GAUGE or another state CET), and merit lists are prepared from those scores, followed by a personal interview. • Do not pay any consultant who quotes you a precise "closing percentile" for MIT ADT — no official document backs such a number.
• Ask the admissions office directly, in writing, whether your score qualifies for your target branch and for any merit scholarship.

Read the series, not one year: the placed-count dipped sharply for the 2021-22 batch (612 of 1,325) and recovered for 2022-23 (1,030 of 1,254, median ₹6.5 lakh). The PG 2-year median for 2022-23 was ₹8,50,000 (same NIRF filing). No 2025 NIRF filing for this institute could be located as of this capture, so the 2022-23 batch remains the latest verified data point.

The university homepage additionally claims "1200+ job offers", a "61+ LPA highest package" and "500+ recruiters". Treat these as the institution's own unaudited claims: no year-stamped placement report, no average salary, and no branch-wise breakdown is published. Branch-wise median for CSE versus Mechanical or Civil is not published anywhere official. If branch-level outcomes matter to your decision — and they should — ask the placement cell for written branch-wise data before paying the first instalment.

The campus at Loni Kalbhor sits on the Pune–Solapur highway near Loni Kalbhor railway station, about an hour by suburban rail from Pune station — it is a self-contained residential campus, not a city college.

Hostel facts from the university's own pages:

• Hostel is not compulsory (MIT School of Engineering FAQ).
• Allotment is first-come, first-served, confirmed only when the full academic year's hostel fee is paid through the TCSiON student portal (MIT ADT university-hostels page).
• Separate boys' and girls' hostels across 30+ on-campus and off-campus blocks, with 24/7 security, Wi-Fi, RO water, solar geysers, laundry and a vegetarian/Jain mess run with a student mess committee (same page).

On cost, the engineering FAQ states hostel plus mess comes to approximately ₹1,30,000 per year — stated as an approximation, not an itemised figure. The exact AY2026-27 hostel fee card by room type is not published on the official hostel page as of this capture (checked again 2026-08-20); the page instead directs fee queries to the hostel office directly at 020 6765 3137 or [email protected] — use that contact for a written rate card before budgeting.

Practical implications: because allotment is pay-first and first-come, hostel planning is part of admission timing, not an afterthought. And since the location is outside the city, day-scholar life realistically requires either the train or university transport — factor that cost in if you skip the hostel.

The comparison that matters is not "which college is better" in the abstract — it is which door your score opens and what each door costs.

• Against COEP Pune and VJTI Mumbai (government-aided, CAP): these are the value benchmarks. Admission is purely percentile-driven through State CET Cell counselling, annual fees are a fraction of MIT ADT's ₹2.47–2.87 lakh Year-1 engineering slabs (AY2026-27), and decades of alumni depth anchor placements. • Against PICT Pune and SPIT Mumbai (private, CAP, CS-focused): these are narrower, compute-centric colleges with published CAP cutoffs and strong recruiter pipelines into software roles. MIT ADT's CSE intake (300 seats per its FAQ) is bigger, but outcome data is less transparent — PICT-tier aspirants trade brand focus for MIT ADT's campus scale.
• Against VIT Pune (private, CAP + institutional): the closest cost-tier peer in the same city. VIT Pune still publishes CAP cutoffs and sits inside the state counselling system; MIT ADT sits outside it entirely. If predictability of process matters, that is the axis to weigh.

Rule of thumb: exhaust your CAP options first, then judge MIT ADT on its residential campus, programme breadth and the NIRF-verified median — not on brochure superlatives.
