Admission route and eligibility, 2027-29
For the 2027-29 batch IMT Nagpur accepts CAT 2026, XAT 2027, CMAT 2027 or a GMAT score, and it is the only IMT campus in India that takes CMAT.
| Requirement | Rule |

| Final-year students | May apply; all mark sheets and the pass certificate go to the academic office later, or the admission is cancelled |

| Work experience | Not compulsory; it adds to the selection score |
| Quota and reservation | No management quota; no caste-based reservation |
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Common application | One IMT form covers Ghaziabad, Nagpur and Hyderabad, with a ₹3,500 fee for the 2027 intake; you list your campus and programme preferences |
| 2. Nagpur-only form | After the common form’s cut-off date, a separate form for IMT Nagpur stays open |
| 3. Interview | Offline personal interview; shortlisted candidates get the details by email in January 2027 |
| 4. Offer | Made on a consolidated score of test score, past academics, work experience and interview, then matched to your stated preference |
Cut-off
- There is no pre-decided cut-off; the consolidated score decides
- The previous admission cycle closed at the 75th percentile on CAT and XAT, 90+ on CMAT and 550 on GMAT
- No year is attached to those closing points, so treat them as a guide, not a promise
- Deadlines move in phases; the last date is posted on the campus site and not fixed in advance
Fees and scholarships
The two-year fee for the 2027-29 batch is ₹16,00,000, with a double-occupancy hostel room, mess, books and the admission fee included. Only the total is published for 2027-29; the 2026-28 batch paid the same total in six instalments.

How the scholarships are paid
- The full fee is paid on the schedule; merit and Leela Nath money comes back after term 5
- For the 2026-28 batch that needed a CGPA of 7.5 (merit) or 7 (Leela Nath), no F grade and no disciplinary record
- A student eligible for more than one scheme keeps only one for the whole programme
Hostel and campus
IMT Nagpur is fully residential: every student lives on campus, and the fee pays for a room shared by two.
- Hostels: separate hostels for men and women, in four blocks, A to D
- Rooms: double occupancy is in the fee; single rooms are limited and allotted first come, first served
- Mess: one mess hall seats 1,000 at a time, with its own kitchen, bakery and ice-cream unit
- Classrooms and labs: 19 smart classrooms, three IT labs of 60 desktops each and a 20-seat language lab
- Sport: floodlit grounds for football and cricket, courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton, and a gym
| Item | Figure |
|---|---|
| Land | 25.04 acres; 27 acres is also given |
- No separate hostel or mess charge is published; both sit inside the two-year fee
- Faculty housing is on campus, so faculty are around outside class hours

Reading these figures
- Two averages are published for 2024-26, ₹12 LPA and ₹10.25 LPA; ask which one is final
- No programme-wise average or median is published, only the highest package per programme
- Graduating year 2024-25 is the 2023-25 batch, so the medians by graduating year run one batch behind the 2024-26 figures
- Finance roles on offer included financial analyst, credit analyst and wealth-management trainee; marketing roles were mainly sales and relationship management

Mistakes to avoid
Most lost IMT Nagpur seats come from exam, deadline and fee assumptions carried over from the other IMT campuses.
| Mistake | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| Assuming CMAT counts at every IMT campus | CMAT 2027 is accepted at Nagpur only; for Ghaziabad or Hyderabad you need CAT, XAT or GMAT |
| Sending GMAT scores on Ghaziabad’s date | Nagpur’s GMAT deadline is 15 March 2027; the central office wants scores by 15 January 2027 |
| Missing the common form and giving up | After the common form closes, a Nagpur-only form stays open |
| Budgeting the fee net of a scholarship | Pay the full schedule; merit and Leela Nath amounts come back after term 5, and only if the CGPA holds |
| Planning for a single room | The fee covers a shared room; singles are limited and go first come, first served |
| Reading the AIU equivalence as permanent | The current equivalence runs to 15 March 2027; ask whether the renewal has been granted before relying on MBA equivalence |
| Treating the closing percentiles as a cut-off | The 75 / 90 / 550 figures describe a past cycle; the consolidated score decides each year |
- Keep the final-year mark sheets and pass certificate ready; a provisional admission is cancelled without them
- If you are choosing between PGDM and a fixed-major programme, remember that a switch later depends on a free seat
